this is a unique piece of obsidian with an equally unique shape.

part jet black, part gold sheen and there is also some sealskin in this piece.

a beautiful semi translucent creamy brown calf creek point, made out of flint that i obtained in a trade at a knap in.

there are some great spots on this piece and red impurities that didn’t show up in the photographs.

a wanachee style clovis reproduction.  the flute travels one third of the way up the point on both sides. fluted with direct free-hand percussion

the material is glass buttes mahogany or “pumpkin” obsidian.

this was my second successful atempt at fluting a clovis, the first will remain with me in my collection forever.

this gem point is made out of a mystery jasper that i picked up at a knap-in last year.  You wont find another point like this puppy.
